Editing Data

There are a few ways to edit data depending on the type of data you are trying to edit and where you are viewing the information from. Whenever you are editing data, don't forget to click Save to ensure your edits are recorded in the system.

Editing Records from a List View

When viewing a related list view from a tab within a record or from the list views page, you can directly edit a record in the list one of two ways:

  1. Select the drop down arrow on the far right of the list item to open the record's action menu and click Edit
  2. Click on the blue hyperlink reference of the record to open the full record details and click Edit or use the pencil icon on a field from this page.

Editing Fields

On a records detail page, you can click Edit in the top right corner or click the pencil icon next to a field to edit the information. If a field does not have a pencil icon next to it, it is non-editable.

Editing Look-up Fields

Fields such as Supplier, Contract, Department etc. need to be selected from a lookup list when they are edited as these are looking up other records that exist within the system.

When you edit a lookup field, a magnifying search will open and you can begin to type the record name and select from the search results. Alternatively, use the magnifying glass for a fuller search if you cannot find the record you are looking for.

You must have pop-ups enabled on your browser for Atamis to use this functionality correctly.

Mandatory Fields

Mandatory fields are denoted with a red asterisk to the left of the field. Other fields may be mandatory based on specific data-criteria in a Validation Rule, these will not have the red asterisk but may prevent you from saving changes until populated.
